Support the Heifer Project TONIGHT!!

Tonight is the last Tuesday night dinner of the year which means 3 things:
1. We are having the annual picnic at the Parish House and barbecuing out back!
It is at the usual time (5:30), but feel free to come at 4:00 to help cook!!
2. It will be a fabulous distraction from studying.
3. AND...WE WILL BE SELLING RAFFLE TICKETS FOR AN MP3 PLAYER--all proceeds from
which go to support The Heifer Project (www.heifer.org)

What is the Heifer project and why should I bring $1 for a raffle ticket?

Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and
poverty and to care for the earth. Harcourt Parish is trying to raise funds to
buy animals to help a village in the developing world sustain itself. Buying a
$1 raffle ticket tonight helps Harcourt reach its goal.

In conclusion....
Tonight you should bring yourself to destress at the Parish House at 4:00 (to
cook) or 5:30 (to eat) and at least $1 for a raffle ticket.

AWESOME!!

CANTERBURY PICNIC TUESDAY!!!

Hello all!!

While studying might be tough,
And finals are always rough,
You have no need to fear!
Canterbury will always be here.

This Tuesday at 5:30 there will be food
And company good enough to take you from your bad mood.
So come to the Parish House to eat and cook
Before opening another book.

(Seniors hate studying for exams.
They would rather write poetry and then just cram. )

LOVE,
Canterbury and Jesus

Box Shepherds needed

The Harcourt Parish Rummage collection will begin on Monday, May 5. Boxes are
in 16 dorms/apts already but we are in need of one "box monitor" in each area.
Monitors would check the box periodically during the day (as you enter/exit the
dorm) to see if the box needs to be emptied by the collection volunteer (and
then call or email the volunteer). It would also be helpful to "talk up" the
collection and try to encourage people to give. Are you willing to be a box
"shepherd?" All of the proceeds from the rummage sale go to local charities.
A quarter of the population of Knox County live in poverty. Many of these
people work, and have tremendous problems affording the gas they need to get to
work and remain employed. Food costs have gone up 20% in the last year. All of
this puts a tremendous strain on the charities that try to provide for people.
Being a box shepherd is a small yet significant way to help.

Please e-mail Suzanne Wright at wrights@kenyon.edu if you are able to help.
